Our mission is to enable the senior citizens of Whitley County to live confident, independent and productive lives by providing educational programs and services.
Our vision is that every senior citizen throughout Whitley County will have the opportunity to receive services to assist in maintaining an independent and dignified life-style.
Whitley County Council on Aging was established in October of 1974 to enhance the quality of life for area senior citizens.
By 1980, a transportation service and multi-purpose senior activity center were in operation.
The Woodlands opened its doors to the community in September 2008.

The Whitley County Council on Aging (WCCOA) is a not-for-profit agency funded in part by city and county government, Medicaid, CHOICE, INDOT, Title IIIB of the Older American's Act, Community Foundation of Whitley County, Social Service Block Grants (SSBG), generous donations from individuals, clients and the business community. WCCOA operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, or national origin, in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
